Dear Honorable Representative _____,
Today, I am contacting you with the hope that our bill can be brought up for a vote before the cut off tomorrow.

Our bill to enable midwives to direct and hire Medical Assistants, HB 2329 is stalled on the House floor, even though it came out of committee unanimously! Please consider helping to bring it up for a vote.

HB 2329, led by Rep Barnard, authorizes Licensed Midwives to delegate tasks to medical assistants (within their scope of practice), and continue to collaborate with lactation consultants. The bill will support midwives’ clinical operations, strengthen team-based care, sustainability, and practice growth will especially help assist rural health care providers. Midwives can already direct RNs. This is simply adding LMs to a long list of provider types that can direct MAs.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns and take good care.

Land Acknowledgement
MAWS acknowledges that we live and work on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Salish tribes and pay our respects to all of the ancestral homelands and traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have been here since time immemorial. We recognize that this land touches on the shared waters of tribes and bands within the Duwamish, Puyallup, Suquamish, Tulalip and Muckleshoot nations. We recognize we are grateful to be guests in these lands and commit to show solidarity for the continued fight for Indigenous sovereignty.
