As the largest professional organization for midwives in Washington state, MAWS advocates for the interests of midwives and families year round. While Midwife Lobby Day is our major advocacy event each year, representatives of MAWS work hard throughout the year promoting our goals of access, equity, and quality care for all families. This includes employing our full time paid lobbyist to speak for us in Olympia, as well as representing our members on a number of panels and projects. To read more about those programs, please click here.

Plan to join us Thurs Feb. 15, 2024 in Olympia!

Land Acknowledgement
MAWS acknowledges that we live and work on the unceded ancestral lands of the Coast Salish tribes and pay our respects to all of the ancestral homelands and traditional territories of Indigenous peoples who have been here since time immemorial. We recognize that this land touches on the shared waters of tribes and bands within the Duwamish, Puyallup, Suquamish, Tulalip and Muckleshoot nations. We recognize we are grateful to be guests in these lands and commit to show solidarity for the continued fight for Indigenous sovereignty.
