The Midwives' Association of Washington State is the largest and most well established professional organization for midwives in Washington.

  • Professional: for Washington state Licensed Midwives and Certified Nurse Midwives. $250 annual fee, includes free CEUs at MAWS Conferences.
  • Student: for Washington state students of midwifery.  $50 annual fee, includes attendance at MAWS sponsored student skills days and peer review sessions.
  • ​Birth Center: for independent, free-standing Birth Centers, licensed in WA,  operated by a MAWS member LM or CNM. $750 annual fee.
  • ​Friends of MAWS: for midwifery friendly businesses, supporters, families, and other healthcare professionals. $100 annual fee, includes optional listing in our directory.
  • As of 2018, we offer free membership for students and midwives of color.
  • We also offer free membership for your first year as a Licensed Midwife or Certified Nurse Midwife
